President Obama worries many concerned Americans. As Obama begins in earnest his campaign to convince the American public that he is entitled to four more years in 2012, the silent majority against Obama will have its say. Obama has failed not only in bringing the nation together, but has excelled in polarizing the American public giving the silent majority against Obama the motivation to move out of their comfort zone and change the direction that America is heading.
Obama's success in polarizing the American public has resulted in a diminishing level of Democrats reluctantly approving of him and an ever increasing level of Republicans who are deeply disappointed and strongly disapprove of him. Despite Obama's single success in severely polarizing the American public, the silent majority against Obama is surprisinglybi-partisan, encompassing a broad spectrum of average Americans who are concerned not only with their own personal situation but with America as a nation and provider for the American people. In 2008, Obama spoke about the idea of uniting the country, in 2012 Obama will have to deal with a determined unified nonpartisan coalition of Americans objecting to his re-election.
Obama, in part due to his upbringing, in part due to his ideological orientation, is fundamentally alien and detached from Main Street America. If Obama was an “Afro-American” who grew up in such a community, he would be intimately aware of the implications of the current high level of unemployment in this community with little if any good news expected for the 4 million other Americans who are unemployed. Obama would be aware of the real economic suffering going on just around the corner from the White House in the adjacent neighborhoods of Washington, D. C. Obama who has never been a governor or an experienced member of Congress exhibits a lack of even the most basic skills needed to meet the challenges as the leader of the most powerful nation in the world. Talking about "meeting challenges" and "working together" mean nothing to the unemployed in the real world and have only exposed his deep rooted ignorance concerning the economic recovery. Rather than talking about how to counter the lack of consumer confidence, or how to counter the lack of investor confidence, or the scandalous deficit spending during his watch, or even explaining why he wasted the nations's financial resources getting virtually nothing in return. The silent majority against Obama are mad as hell, and they are not going to take anymore.
So let's examine what Obama promised at the beginning of his term and compare to what he has actually accomplished. The gap between then and now is so great that one begins to wonder if Obama can be believed at all. The deficit budget overshot projections by $ 480,000,000,000, that’s almost a half a trillion dollars. Even the Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke has been quoted stating that the current deficit spending by the Obama administration is 'unsustainable'. Obama promised to get unemployment down, and of course its gone up, Obama promised to solve the housing crisis, its gotten worse, Obama promised to get health care down, the cost of health insurance for a family of four has effectively almost doubled. Without exaggerating, Obama has really nothing to show for his efforts after 3 years with no prospect of any significant improvement in the coming 9 months.
Lately, Obama has employed like many past liberal Presidents the use of military metaphors to explain what he means. During the recent State of the Union Address he began and ended his address by celebrating the armed forces. They are not “consumed with personal ambition,” they “work together” and “focus on the mission at hand” and do not “obsess over their differences.” Americans should emulate troops “marching into battle,” who “rise or fall as one unit.” This cynical use of GI Joe metaphors really shows the silent majority that Obama prefers to live in a world of metaphors rather than in the world of Americans for whom putting food on the table is a daily struggle. On the night of his 2008 election on the stage in Grant Park, Obama stated out loud “I will listen to you,” “especially when we disagree.” Again, no connection between his words and his actions. Not only is Obama in a different ballpark but who is he actually talking to? Certainly not the silent majority.
Congressman Allen West summed up during the recent Florida primaries, the pent up anger of the silent majority against Obama who are becoming restless day by day and counting the days till Election Day on Nov 4 when they can finally have their say. “Take your message of equality of achievement, take your message of economic dependency, take your message of enslaving the entrepreneurial will and spirit of the American people somewhere else,” he continued. “You can take it to Europe, you can take it to the bottom of the sea, you can take it to the North Pole, but get the hell out of the United States of America.” Obama has brought Americato a position of decline, its up to the silent majority to stop the slide down under.
